Personally, the best sessions that I remembered in technical module are when we have COOKING session with Prof Barjoyai and also PAINTING n DRAWING session. Prof definitely has driven the entire BeST’s participants to think more creative and believe that we have the potential to create innovative idea and think out of box! That’s the most important message! Prof Barjoyai also said that the principle to be creative is “WRONG IDEAS IS THE GREAT IDEAS”. I agree with the principle and if we believe it, we actually just realize there are many things that we can do to make better life and generate innovative ideas and participate in new technology era.

Reverse engineering is interesting technique in developing creative thinking and we must know the seven hats thinking approach. Seven hats methods allow us to get more productive discussion and try to analyze different stages of thinking that cover all the important criteria to make one big decision.

NLP is very interesting area that we should learn. We have to understand the human behavior and the body language can tell a personality of each person. The session start with the introduction of NLP concept and we tend to use subconscious brain rather than conscious one.

To start the session, Mr Hisham interact with the audience and try to discover the personality of each participants either extrovert or introvert personality. Everyone talk about their family background, the failure and success in life and many questions regarding ur self.
Then, negotiation skills briefing and as we all know that everyone negotiate in our daily life and it happens almost anywhere. There are 4 concepts of negotiation skills that include:
1.    BATNA ( Best Alternative To Negotiated Agreement)
2.    Reservartion
3.    ZOPA ( Zone of Possible Agreement)
4.    Value creation through trades.

We were asked to do lots of negotiation and each group must acted according to cases that was given. We have lots of fun and know the importance of negotiation skills in the real life. Next day, we were discussing the roles in negotiations and learned the Trump Style of Negotiation. Powerful strategies and tactics used by Trumps:
1.    Know the purpose of negotiation
2.    Build trust and friendship and satisfaction to the other side
3.    Learn what the other side wants, flush out weaknesses and uncover important information

The day to become a good speaker have come and all the participants was given 3 minutes to talk about the issue or selected topic. As our group theme is about women entrepreneurs, I chose to talk about the founder of Sendayu Tinggi, Mdm Rozita Ibrahim. She is a great and courage women entrepreneurs that manage to start the business from level zero until successful to build Sendayu Tinggi Empire.

Actually, I have recorded my speech when my turn to do public speaking. After I hear it and watch it again, I feel so embarrassed about my speech because I didn’t done my best and I need very much improvement. I need to eliminate the fillers and try to speak confidently.  I need a lot of practice, practice and more practice in order to master the art of public speaking.

Interview session that give nerve wrecking to all the participants. Early in the morning, we were given the briefing about what should we answer for a simple and typical interview question. We were divided into 2 groups to be interviewed. The session is about 5 minutes per person.
The interview session have given me the experience to nurture and polish my interview skills and be confident when we speak. Of course we will be nervous and tremble for a while, but we must control the emotions and try our best to answer the question bravely and confidently.

What will come to ur mind when u say GROOMING? Of course the attire and how we look will be the words that running in ur thoughts. Your personality and your attire must be well matched in order to make urself and everyone around you comfortable to talk to you.
So, what are you waiting for? Be confident and know what colors of cloths that match your personality. In this session, Mdm Leilanie gave the briefing and lots of tips to become more presentable in front of the people and most importantly during the interview.

First impressions sometimes are very cruel yet it’s true. The culture and the nature of humans tend to prefer people that more presentable and nice looking faces were chosen. Early in the morning, the briefings for boys were given that cover cloths, trousers, ties, and even shoes. Later, grooming session for girls were started and then scarf n shawls session with Ms Yasara that shows the current trends of shawls in the market.  Lastly, we were taught about table etiquette.

Everyone can be a leader, anywhere and anytime! But the most important question is, Are we a GOOD LEADER?? Leader must be able to communicate effectively in order to delegate the works as well as the information to their subordinates.

A study shows that managers communicate 70% to 90% of their time everyday. Can u imagine that? So, it shows that it is very crucial to a leader to have effective way to communicate and convey the information.
Effective communication requires us to speak clearly and also listen actively! We must be able to control the situation and must have creative problem solving skills in order to get trust, gain confident from investors.

            The way we speak and project our ideas and innovation will give the people how our leadership style. Individuals that moves ahead in business is the person who is able to communicate, to make sound decision, and to get the things done through peoples.
            In the session with Prof. Syed Omar, we were asked to discuss and select the best leaders that can communicate well. Our group (Super Synergy) choose to talk about the leadership style of Eric Schimdt-the CEO of GOOGLE. Throughout the presentation, we can actually compare the leadership style for each of selected leaders and we can make them as our role models.
            In the evening session, we were given the case study about the club and the scenario in the club that makes them failed to be a good leader and conduct an event. We have to analyzed what is wrong in the organization and it is proven that corrupted leaders can lead to failure in business or organization.
A leader also should always present yourself as best as possible as how u look are much more important than what u say! this is the power of first impression. BE PREPARED!

The session with Pak Lah was very interesting yet informative. The session starts with the theory of what is important when giving a speech or presentation in front of a group of peoples. We must talk confidently and care for our personality and impression of others towards us. Moreover, maintaining eye contacts and body language is also important to get audience’s attentions.
Mdm Rusil take over the session by making us do lots of attractive activities for examples making us talk with the passive objects, then talking changing topics given in front of the group members. From the activities, we will notice that we are comfortable to talk and giving the presentation if the topic is familiar with us and we know the topic thoroughly. When the rare and familiar topics are given, we tend to tremble and don’t know what to say. The activities give us confident to us to talk in front of the peoples.
We were given many opportunities to sharpen up our communication skills and more importantly, be brave and try harder to unleash ur potentials!

Business plan is vital to company success

Proposal is formal attempts to convince someone to approve, sponsor or a project and it is a persuasive offer to solve problems. At first, Mdm Farah and Mdm Liza introduce us what is business proposal are all about. There are 2 types of proposals: solicited and unsolicited proposals. We are focus on solicited proposals and it is the situation when large companies published a Request For Proposals (RFP).  RFP is an announcement for specific projects and outlines what proposal should cover.
The components of proposals include:
1.    Copy of RFP
2.    Letter of transmittal
3.    Executive summary
4.    Title page
5.    Table of contents
6.    List of figures
7.    Background, problems, purpose
8.    Schedule
9.    Staffing
10.  Budget
11.  Appendix
We were asked to come up with the ideas or projects and make proposals. Our group’s (Super Synergy) chose the project on “Production of Bioplastic from Food Waste”. The reason why we chose this topic is because it is relevant issue regarding the abundant of food waste and to capitalize the cheap source to more useful products.


The purpose of our project would be to invent alternative biodegradable plastics from low cost sources, and to create awareness about the importance of using bioplastics in the society. In this activity, we are exposed on how to write effective proposals and work together with the group members. Cooperation and team players is very important to make this project successful!

In this session, Mdm Norliza and Mdm Farah instructed us to write our resume and try to make it simple yet attracted for employer to notice our great personality and we are worthy to take into consideration.

The chosen words are very important in resume writing because we have only less than 45 seconds to make good impression to our potential employers. So, think carefully before u wrote! We must write a simple and direct style of writing in order to save reader time and most importantly, choose attractive layout information for better and easy grasp.
To write effective resume and cover letter, we must remember this 4 letters: N-A-S-H
N- Neatness
A-   Accuracy
S-   Simple
H- Honesty
Neatness is very crucial in resume writing because it make employer easy to get the information and present a nice resume to read, thus attracted them to read more information about us. We have to use clean type face on high quality paper and avoid italics type faces. Always used quality printer and avoid using ‘I’ in the resume. Remember this: Don’t exaggerate and do not alter the past or claims any skills that u don’t have. U will get into troubles if u don’t know how to answer the question in the interview session later.
FALLACIES ABOUT RESUME
1.    Purpose of  a resume is to list all your skills and abilities
2.    A good resume will get u the job u want
3.    Ur resume will be read carefully and thoroughly by an interested employer.
4.    Write more good information and present about yourself.

Do u know that the bare essential contents that employer expect to see in the resume are:

-academic qualifications
